Morning Jam with Sara Southerland during Eat Local Month

There is a food Renaissance happening in Whatcom County. And we can all be a part. …As we celebrate September Eat Local Month, hear from Sara Southerland, a lady at the helm of the good food movement who will introduce how eating locally impacts our community economically, socially and environmentally, not to mention the impacts of food on our health, mood, well being, and most importantly – taste buds!

Sara Southerland is the Food & Farming Manager at Sustainable Connections where she works with businesses of all kinds to connect, promote and build a strong local food system that supports our community with every bite. Sara is also the Co-founder of Electric Beet Juice Co., an organic juice bar and café featuring delicious, artisan, locally sourced fare for every palate. She loves living in Bellingham and is committed to making Whatcom County the best place to live, play and work. When she’s not playing with food, talking about food, or organizing foodie events, Sara loves to go on hikes, ride her bicycle, sing and dance to cheesy 80s music.
