Bellingham Beer Week is back, as new ‘beer alliance’ promotes local craft breweries

Bellingham Beer Week, an 11-day-long celebration hosted by local breweries, is back for its 10th year from April 18-28.

“For the last decade, Bellingham Beer Week has been an annual celebration of the creative and unique beer scene in Bellingham, making our city a destination for beer drinkers across the Pacific Northwest,” according to a news release from the Bellingham Beer Alliance, an organizing committee for Bellingham’s beer community.

“We’re all really excited about the potential of the Bellingham Beer Alliance. Planning for Bellingham Beer Week has certainly been our first priority, but we also can’t help but look forward to other event possibilities throughout the year, like an Oktoberfest or a Winter Beer Festival in Bellingham. We’re looking forward to being able to apply for grant money, and continuing on the momentum of Bellingham Beer Week,” Emily Mallos, Bellingham Beer Alliance’s communications lead, wrote in the news release.

This year 15 Bellingham breweries and nine taprooms will be releasing new beers, hosting block parties, live music, brewery tours and hosting events., according to the news release. These local tap houses and breweries are participating:

The celebration will have a kick-off party at Wander Brewing from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18. Throughout the celebration, the various brewery events will be posted on the Bellingham Beer Week event calendar, along with any ticket information. Most events will be free.

“Bellingham Beer Week will be a true showcase of collaboration and camaraderie in our community, and sure to craft an experience as unique as each of the breweries in Bellingham,” the news release states.
