Opus Performing Arts Spring Showcase

  • Mount Baker Theater 104 North Commercial Street Bellingham, WA, 98225 United States (map)

Opus Performing Arts is proud to present our annual Spring Showcase! Audiences are sure to enjoy this school performance, featuring students in ballet, tap, contemporary, jazz, and lyrical. Opus’ Spring Showcase highlights the instructional aspect of the school, from our three-year-olds in their first classes to our intermediate/advanced high school students. This year the performance will include an excerpt of the romantic ballet La Sylphide, one of the world’s oldest ballets, originally choreographed in 1832. La Sylphide will feature two graduating advanced students: Bailey Kager playing the role of the Sylph, and Tyler Nelson as James. Opus’ Spring Showcase also includes new works by artistic director Brooke Evans and faculty members Damian Cade, Celeste Hartsook, Gabby Malagreca, Elizabeth Malone, and Diane Williams. With a variety of students from all classes performing, you will get a taste of the dancers’ experiences throughout the year, what they have learned together, and the goals they are reaching for as they refine and hone their skills.

Performances of Opus’ Spring Showcase are appropriate for all ages and will be available for viewing either in-person at the Mount Baker Theatre (masks are recommended but not required) or by live streaming the performance for at-home viewing.
