NEXT ART WALK: Friday | February 3, 2017 | 6pm to 10pm

On the first Friday of every month, downtown's Art Walk features galleries, studios, museums, shops, and restaurants showcasing the creative talent found in Bellingham's growing art scene. We invite you to stroll through the streets of downtown to enjoy art, food, and community!

The Allery Fine Art

The Allery will have a new piece by Corey Urlacher, and will offer work by 16 artists. Give yourself a post holiday gift!! Visit us and see all the work before it changes. Happy 2017. 

Allied Arts of Whatcom County  

Allied Arts of Whatcom County will host its 2017 Members Show in January. Participation is open to all current Allied Arts Members at any level of membership. This show will feature work from nearly 100 Allied Arts members, including professional artists, students, and new or emerging artists. Works presented will range from traditional paintings to photography to contemporary sculptures and everything in between. 

Aslan Brewing Co. 

Featuring the works of Kendra Castillo. She is best known for her acrylic and watercolor paintings. Her art is filled with organic shapes, textures, and colors inspired by her surroundings. Her hope is that you take a moment to let the colors and movement found within each painting bring you a sense of calm and rejuvenation. 

The Atomic Kitten

Come celebrate the New Year at The Atomic Kitten, the PNW's premier destination specializing in restored vintage Danish, American, European and Asian Midcentury Modern furniture and home accessories. Find treasures that blend well with MCM, Hollywood Regency, Lucite, Glam, Oriental, Atomic, Retro, Jetson, Mad Men, and Industrial furniture. You can also find Luxe Deville purses and a variety of "cat" related items!

Bayou on Bay  

Enjoy delicious cocktails and cajun cuisine in the Annex Bar, featuring the oil paintings of Conrad Berkompas: - "Without the possibility of fantasy becoming reality, fantasy is of no use whatsoever. Here goes everything." 

Bellingham Folk School

A Year Of Paintings And Practice is a body of 366 paintings, one for every day of 2016, by Meghan Yates. Come celebrate and immerse yourself in art and song! 

Boundary Bay Brewery

Eric Woolsey's wood block prints depict surreal outdoor sports scenes with emphasis on motion and light. Come see his work and get excited about a new season of outdoor recreation! 

Casa Que Pasa

Varied works from three giants in the local arts scene. Come check out new work from James Mey, Kelly Hoekema, and Jessica Croyle, and fuel up for a great Friday! 

Community Food Co-op

Featuring Dawn Kodin: "During cancer treatments, I began to take art classes. My passion for color exploded and my heart expanded. Today, I am cancer free and I have healed in part through my creative outlets.” Music with Sam Chue whose influences include Ween, Tom Waits, and Arlo and Woody Guthrie. Tasty tidbits and sips throughout the store including a special treat from the Co-op bakery.  

Dakota Gallery

The Good Fight: Draw-A-Thon Fundraiser. Live 10-minute drawings for $10 each. CASH ONLY. Profits go to Earthjustice, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, and Whatcom Peace and Justice Center.

The Max Higbee Center provides recreational activities for people 14 and older with developmental disabilities. All artwork is made by our members!  

Make.Shift Art Space

This month artists explore the realm of portraiture in varied mediums and approaches. The group show includes whimsical, bold, and contemplative works in graphite, oil pen, stencil, and “smoke painting” by a group of Seattle & Bellingham artists. 

The Mount Bakery

The Mount Bakery's Downtown Cafe will be showing a variety of works both produced and collected by Vince Lalonde, (el presidente of the Mount Bakery) and then stored for years in his cluttered attic and aged like fine clutter.  World class original music will be provided the incomparable LUCAS HICKS and JOHN SAMPSON. Serving 4 types of homemade soup with bread and/or croissants. Beer, hot cocoa, milk, sodas, etc. also available! Please drop in and say hi.

Sculpture Northwest Gallery

Sculpture Northwest Gallery, a non-profit arts organization, is proud to present Of This Land: Contemporary First Nations Sculpture.  Artists representing the Pacific Northwest explore and mix traditional motifs with contemporary artful finesse.  Bold totemic themes and rich storytelling that reaches through many generations embody this selection of skillfully created multi-media sculpture on view January 6-February 25.

Featuring the work of Judith Elder, a local painter who is using free-motion sewing machine embroidery to create her images. She will also have a class in free-motion sewing machine embroidery on January 29th, from 12-3:00
