The Whatcom Museum is excited to announce the opening of a new photo exhibition, straight from the archives, of beloved Whatcom County pets (and their humans). The Pet Show opens Saturday, October 21 in Old City Hall and runs through April 14, 2024.

The walls of our main gallery will be filled with larger-than-life images, dating as far back as 1890 all the way through 2015, including local photographer J.W. Sandison's first-ever photo of a cat taken in 1905. (His first attempt ended in a blur as the kitten tried to escape a toddler's grasp. Come by in person to view the sweet image he was able to get!)

These pets' names are mostly lost to history, but their sweet faces and personalities are preserved here at the Whatcom Museum. Great for kids and families, too!
