Emerging from the intersection of experimental electronic music, EPROM defies genre boundaries with his audacious fusion of complex rhythms, raw computer outputs, and distorted basslines. Based in Portland, Oregon, EPROM has captivated audiences worldwide with his influential and technically virtuosic sound.
Influenced by rave legends like Dillinja and The Prodigy, as well as headphone music pioneers Autechre and Karlheinz Stockhausen, EPROM's sonic palette is a daring reinterpretation of established patterns. His performances at renowned venues such as The North Warehouse and Low End Theory, as well as festivals like EDC Korea and Electric Forest, have solidified his position at the forefront of the experimental electronic music scene.
In June, EPROM, also known as Alexander Dennis, releases "Syntheism," his first album in a decade. This sonic journey unveils a techno-utopian society in a parallel reality, assisted by fictitious organizations that contribute to the realization of this alternate world. The album pushes the boundaries of imagination, immersing listeners in EPROM's richly textured sonic universe.
Coinciding with the album release, EPROM's "Syntheism Robotics" show in Denver is a one-night-only event that merges music and technology in a groundbreaking spectacle. This larger-than-life experience showcases his visionary artistry and pushes the boundaries of sonic exploration.
Beyond music, EPROM's influence extends into fashion, design, technology, and production. His innovative approach has even been recognized with a Grammy nomination at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards in the category of Best Dance/Electronic Album for his two collaborations on Flume's mixtape, "Hi This Is Flume."
