Join us on July 1st for an unforgettable celebration as we raise our glasses to the highly anticipated launch of our collaboration beer with Patagonia! Our Kernza Lager is a bright, easy-drinking, pilsner that is 100% organic, using Regenerative Organic Certified® Kernza® perennial grain. By making beer with more perennial grains, like Kernza Perennial Grain, we have the potential to move the brewing industry towards a regenerative future to combat the climate crisis.
We will be kicking off the celebration with a nature walk through Whatcom Falls Park curated by Aslan Ambassador Ross Reid aka the face behind Nerdy About Nature! We'll go for a little jaunt in the woods at Whatcom Falls taking a look at different trees, plants, mosses & more, all while chatting about topics from forest succession and ecology to philosophy and broader societal issues. You'll get all sorts of insight about the natural world and our place in it, an opportunity to shoot the cuss with us about whatever you want, as well as some Nerdy About Nature stickers and swag. It'll be a blast! The walk starts at 11 am and we are meeting in the Whatcom Falls Parking Lot. Please arrive a couple minutes early to check in. See below what you should bring!

The route features obstacles and varying terrain - participants must be physically fit and able-bodied.
Tickets for the nature walk are $10 per person and include a pint of the Kernza Lager to enjoy afterward at the Depot! All proceeds from the ticket go to Surfrider Foundation.
After the walk, join us at Aslan Depot to try the Kernza Lager and some BBQ! We will be grilling up veggie and meat kebabs served alongside a Kernza pasta salad. We will also have live music from 3-9. It's going to be a party you won't want to miss!

The Northwest Straits Chapter represents Bellingham, Washington’s local network of Surfrider volunteers working to protect coastal access, host local beach cleanups, amplify regional policy initiatives, and monitor water quality.
